Kikusui Asian Pear is a fruiting deciduous tree with a showy spring flowering grown for its juicy late summer fruit. The large round fruits have frim crisp flesh similar to an apple with a sweet-tart flavor that has a hint of lime. Grows best in full sun and rich, moist well-drained soils. Kikusui is fireblight resistant.
Asian pears keep their texture when cooked, and store for long times. Kikusui needs a cross-pollinator- suggested partners Ishiiwase or 20th Century- and has a low chill requirement of 400-500 hours.
