Hagiwara Banana Shrub is a large broadleaf evergreen shrub with a rounded habit and glossy green leaves that stay green year round. Its yellow magnolia-like flowers with a thin maroon edging have an intense sweet banana scent and blooms from early spring into summer. Flowers best in part shade and rich, moist and well-drained soils.
