Amethyst Hydrangea is a compact deciduous shrub with glossy serrated deep green leaves and large mophead clusters that bloom on old wood through summer. The pale green flowers color flushing depend on the PH of the soil - acidic soils begin blue and transition to violet, while alkaline soils begin shell pink and transition to fuchsia- before turning lime green with age. Best bloom in partial sun and rich, moist well-drained soils.
