Jade Rose Hens and Chicks is a mat-forming evergreen succulent with tight rosettes of narrow jewel-toned foliage with fine white hairs that has dark red middles and green center and outer leaves. The mother Rosset(hen) spreads out with horizontal stems to seed offsets (chicks). Infrequently in summer a short stalk rises from the hen sporting clusters of pink flowers. The hen dies after flowering, giving space for the chicks to grow. Best color with full sun and dry to medium well-drained soils. Drought and heat tolerant once established.
