Mary Gregory Stokes’ Aster is a vigorous compact native evergreen perennial with rich green foliage that forms a basal rosette.  Numerous large fluffy Cornflower-like flowers open white with a hint of yellow in the center and mature to pure white on erect leafy stems from summer into fall.  Grows best with full sun and well-drained soils.  Good drought and heat tolerance.

Stokesia laevis are a native host plant for several moths and butterflies, notably the Swallowtail Butterfly.
