Chocolate Fountain Mimosa is a small to medium-sized deciduous tree with a weeping habit and finely divided, fern-like leaves that emerge as a deep burgundy or chocolate brown color, hence its name. In late spring and summer, the tree is adorned with fluffy white powder puff-like flowers with silvery pink tips that create a beautiful contrast against the dark foliage.
This Mimosa variety thrives in well-drained soil and prefers full sun to partial shade. It is relatively low-maintenance and can tolerate a wide range of soil types. The Chocolate Mimosa is also known for its excellent heat and drought tolerance.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: High Maintenance. Wilt and mimosa web worm can be a serious problem. Weak limbs should be protected from high winds/ice damage. Falling leaves, flowers, and pods can cause significant cleanup. Highly flammable.
