Desdemona Leopard Plant is a shade loving herbaceous perennial that forms a basal mound of huge heart-shaped leathery dark foliage on long stocks. New foliage emerges purplish-red and matures to dark brown green with purplish undersides. Orange-yellow daisy like flowers bloom in mid summer. Best color in part sun and rich moist well-drained soil.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance. Do not let soils dry out. Even with adequate moisture, foliage may wilt in hot summers (but will recover at night), especially if in too much sun. Watch for slugs and snails.
