Sunset Hens and Chicks is a colorful dwarf evergreen succulent that grows in tight rosettes of fat pointed bright green foliage with the occasional yellow variegation and strong burgundy tips that flushes fully red in winter. The mother Rosset(hen) spreads out with horizontal stems to seed offsets (chicks). Infrequently in summer a short stalk rises from the hen sporting clusters of pink flowers. The hen dies after flowering, giving space for the chicks to grow. Best color with full sun and dry to medium well-drained soils. Drought and heat tolerant once established.
