Black and Bloom Sage is a tender upright clumping herbaceous perennial with an open habit of thick wrinkled dark green foliage that is lightly fragrant when bruised. Tall dark spikes of small two-lipped dark cobalt flowers with black calyces bloom from summer until frost, attracting hummingbirds. Flowers best in full sun and moist well-drained soils. An improved version of 'Black and Blue'.
