Size

Big Blue Salvia is a compact upright clumping herbaceous annual with full light green foliage.  Tall dark purple spikes with matching calyxes sporting small dark blue two-lipped flowers bloom from midsummer until frost attracting butterflies and hummingbirds.  Flowers best in full sun and moist well-drained soils.  Drought tolerant once established.  Big Blue has improved shade tolerance and is self cleaning.
