Kalinda Hens and Chicks is a mat-forming evergreen succulent with flat light green foliage that runs through shades of copper and red through the seasons and matures to red hearts with green tips that grow in tight rosettes. The mother Rosset(hen) spreads out with horizontal stems to seed offsets (chicks). Infrequently in summer a short stalk rises from the hen sporting clusters of pink flowers. The hen dies after flowering, giving space for the chicks to grow. Best color with full sun and dry to medium well-drained soils. Drought and heat tolerant once established.
