Superba Chinese Astilbe is a taller mounding herbaceous perennial with lacy fern-like foliage that emerges mahogany red before maturing to dark green. Feathery upright panicles of purple-rose flowers bloom above the leaves through summer. Flowers best in part shade and rich, moist soils. Astilbe are deer and rabbit resistant.
