Spring Frost Distylium is a dwarf flat-topped evergreen shrub with gracefully arching branches. Its small willow-like leaves emerge golden white with thin red margins that holds well into summer and mature to deep green on bright red stems. Small fringed red flowers bloom in thick clusters in early spring on bare branches attracting butterflies and pollinators. Grows best in full sun and slightly acidic, moist well-drained soil. Tolerates droughts and is disease and pest resistant.
