Monrovia® Windmill Palm is a small palm tree with a dense trunk covered with hair-like fibers and large palmate leaves at the top of the trunk that fans out in all directions. Attractive yellow flowers bloom on long drooping panicles in summer. Grows best with part sun and rich, evenly moist well-drained soils. Its ultimate mature size depends on the zone its grown in- tropics can reach the full size of 40', while its lower zones are often capped at 10' .

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: High Maintenance. Water regularly. Not very winter hardy- if temperatures are expected to drop below 10 degrees a plastic sheet over the crown will be needed. Mulch for winter and plant in an area protected from winter winds.
