Dragon Gate Chinese Sweetbox is a compact mounding evergreen shrub with narrow, glossy dark green foliage. Highly fragrant creamy white flowers bloom in spring and are followed by small glossy red berries that ripen to black and can last through winter. Does best in part sun and rich well-drained soils. Drought tolerant once established. Dragon Gate does not begin to loose foliage as it blooms, unlike the species.
