Spring Sizzle Hydrangea is a compact deciduous shrub with a dense mounding habit and strong stems that do not flop. Its full-sized, tightly packed conical panicles open white and quickly turn deep red even in warm regions. The flowers bloom all summer and are very attractive to butterflies. While can tolerate full sun, its best blooms are in part sun and rich, moist well-drained acidic soils.
