Winterbor Kale is a cool season annual with thick, finely curled rich green basal foliage. Though ornamental Kale is normally grown for its colorful foliage rather than taste, Winterbor has foliage with an extra mild, sweet tang flavor. The leaves have the best flavor after the first frost. Best if grown in rich, consistently moist well-drained loamy soils.
