Tugela Ruby Pineapple Lily is a dramatic upright herbaceous perennial with thick basal rosette foliage. The leaves emerge flushed purple and matures to glossy green. The thick central flower stem that raises in summer is a deep purple and holds a bottle-brush raceme of deep pink buds that open to ivory flowers that darken to rose and a purple heart attracting butterflies. Best bloom in full sun and rich, moist, well-drained soils.
