Anise Purple Hyssop is an upright native perennial with semi-woody stems and highly aromatic mint-scented foliage. Short tubular flower spikes top the stems with pale blue, lavender, or purple flowers bloom from midsummer until frost if deadheaded. The papery bracts that remain after the flowers fade can be various colors. Flowers best in full sun and dry to average well-drained soils. Highly attractive to pollinators and butterflies, but avoided by deer.
