Beijing Beauty Mahonia is a compact evergreen shrub with distinct dark green spiny pinnate compound leaves. The clusters of ornamental but edible berries ripen in spring from the previous bloom before the long panicles of fragrant yellow flowers begin to bloom in fall. Best in part sun and moist well-drained soil.
