Drummond Phlox is a native annual with an upright growth habit and slightly hairy, lance-shaped leaves. The real show-stopper is its flowers, which bloom from spring to summer, and can be extended if deadheaded. These star-shaped flowers come in a variety of colors, including white, pink, red, and purple, often with a contrasting eye, and they emit a sweet fragrance that attracts butterflies. Drummond Phlox prefers full sun to light shade and well-drained soil.
