Cornerstone European Hornbeam is a slow-growing deciduous tree that has multiple-trunks and upright branches forming a rounded canopy. The serrated and heavily ribbed deep green foliage turns yellow in fall. Separate insignificant catkins bloom in early spring, and the female catkins give way to distinct clusters of winged nutlets. Prefers average well drained soils. Cornerstone is a Bold Spring Nursery exclusive and has improved heat tolerance.
