H.F Young Clematis is a compact deciduous climbing perennial vine with bright green foliage that flowers on both new and old wood. The large soft blue flowers with cream anthers bloom in early spring first heavily on old wood than again in early summer on new wood. Prefers full sun and moist well-drained soil. Needs support.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance. Susceptible to wilt and stem rot, which can be fatal. Other potential diseases include powdery mildew, leaf spots, and rust. Potential insect pests include aphids, vine weevils, slugs/snails, scale and earwigs. Watch for spider mites. If possible, plant the roots in the area with afternoon shade and climb the foliage into full sun for best results.
