Fuggle Hops is a popular vigorous twining deciduous vine with serrated dark green leaves and hops that are used in beer.  The fragrant green female flowers bloom in short cone-like structures that mature in mid summer and are followed by pale brown aromatic hops.  Fuggle is mild with a typical fruity.  Grows best with rich, moist well-drained soils.  Drought tolerant once established. Needs both male and female plants to produce seed. Fuggle is disease and pest resistant.

Humulus lupulusis a host plant for the Question Mark, Commas, and Red Admiral butterflies.  Learn more about planting for butterflies with Georgia natives with this brochure.
