Rex Begonia are small perennials grown for their showy foliage that has a wide range of patterns, colors, and textures. Through all the varieties, sparse hair and deep veins on the leaves are consistent. Grows best in part shade and rich, moist well-drained soils. Rex Begonias have smaller and sparser blooms, leading many growers to chose to remove them to promote the foliage. Treat as an annual when outdoors out of its hardiness zone.
