Northern Star Lily of the Nile is a tender mounding deciduous perennial with narrow medium green grass-like foliage with a purple flush at the base. Attractive clusters of violet or blue flowers with deep blue stripes bloom on sturdy stems above the leaves in mid summer. Flowers best when pot-bound and consistently moist. Northern Star is the most hardy Agapanthus available.
