Dwarf Fakahatchee Grass is a tall warm-season grass that grows in clumps with long arching green leaves that have white central lines often become floppy with age. Sheathed flower spikes with tiny fringe-like red flowers bloom through summer. Prefers full sun and moist soils. Evergreen in frost-free zones.
Tripsacum dactyloides is a host plant for the Byssus Skipper, attracts various butterflies and is highly attractive to wildlife.
