Candlebra Hydrangea is a mounding deciduous shrub with upright dark red stems sporting medium green foliage.  A profuse flowering of lose conical panicles that open creamy white and mature to dark pink begins in mid summer before eventually fading to tan and persist well into fall.  attracting butterflies.  Best bloom in partial sun and rich, moist acidic well-drained soils.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Medium Maintenance. Mulch soil to maintain moisture and overwinter.  If pruning is needed do so after flowering. Slight susceptibility to bud blight, wilt, leaf spot, and mildew.  Aphids are occasional problems.  Longer panicles can be obtained by thinning the shoots.
