Vanessa Persian Ironwood is a small deciduous tree with a narrow upright habit an exfoliating bark. The dense foliage emerges red and bronze and matures to a glossy dark green before turning various shades of red, orange, and purple for fall. The tiny attractive red flowers bloom from late winter into early spring before the foliage emerges. Best grown in full sun and slightly acidic, well-drained soils.
