Katsura Pieris is a dense upright evergreen shrub with wine red new growth that matures to a glossy dark green. The drooping clusters of lilac buds emerge in summer and persist through winter before finally blooming into rose pink flowers in spring. Best bloom in part sun with slightly acidic and moist well-drained soils.
