Forest Green Anise is a tender upright-rounded evergreen shrub with glossy, olive green foliage that has a pleasant fragrance. The flowers are insignificant but are followed by the non-edible star-shaped seed capsules that have a licorice scent - DO NOT INGEST! The plant is not a substitute for the culinary spice and flavorings obtained from Illicium verum. Grows best in rich, moist well-drained soils.
