Pistachio Hydrangea is a compact reblooming deciduous shrub with a mounding habit and glossy serrated deep green leaves. The vivid multi-toned mophead clusters open green then develop blue eyes, center color that depends on the soil PH -alkaline soils produces deep pink, while acidic soils produce violet center rings- while the edges remain green. The first flush begins in late spring on old wood, and the new wood bloom begins in summer. Deadheading will extend the bloom times. Best bloom in partial sun and rich, moist well-drained soils.
