Purple Reign Pineapple Lily is a dramatic upright herbaceous perennial with thick basal rosette foliage. The leaves emerge a deep burgundy that holds into summer before maturing to glossy green. The thick central flower stem that raises in summer is a deep purple and holds a bottle-brush raceme of black buds that open blush pink and darken to deep mauve in summer attract butterflies. Best bloom in full sun and rich, moist, well-drained soils.
