Ponkan Mandarin is a winter fruit-producing evergreen shrub with a dense upright spreading crown, and thornless foliage. The juicy easy to peal fruit has a rich sweet-tang flavor and is produced in alternating years. Grows best in full sun and sandy to loamy well-drained acidic soils. Ponkan is self-pollinating and well known for its tolerance of cold down to 30F.
