Sunset Magic Crape Myrtle is a compact medium-sized deciduous shrub with an upright habit and exfoliating bark. The oval leaves emerge reddish-purple and darken to extremely dark purple when they mature. The heavy blooms of large ruffled true red panicles smother the branches all summer into fall. Best color in full sun and rich, well-drained acidic soil. Sunset magic has excellent disease resistant to all typical Crape Myrtle issues.
