Purple Lilac is a rounded compact reblooming deciduous shrub with small light green foliage. Panicles of fragrant starry lilac purple flowers bloom first in spring then again from midsummer into fall. Best flowering with full sun and rich, moist well-drained neutral soils. Purple Lilac is highly disease resistant.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance. No serious pests or diseases. Leaf-roll necrosis may occur. Late spring frost may damage flower buds and young leaves. Prune as needed immediately after spring flowering. Prompt deadheading before seed setting will increase next year's bloom.
