Martha's Vineyard Hydrangea is a compact reblooming deciduous shrub with serrated dark green leaves. Its abundant large-flowered lacecap panicles that bloom throughout summer open greenish-cream and quickly turn bright pinkish-red regardless of soil PH and develop a green ting with age. The flowers attract butterflies and pollinators. Best bloom in partial sun and rich, moist well-drained soils. The Seaside Serenade series is a Monrovia exclusive that has longer lasting blooms and extra sturdy stems, and resists sun scorching.
