Spotted Joe Pye Weed is a bushy woody perennial with whorls of coarse dark leaves on its purple-speckled stems. The large flowerhead on top opens to hundreds of tiny sweetly fragrant purple flowers in summer and fall, attracting bees and butterflies. Best bloom in full sun and moist, well-drained soils.
