Cantaloupe Echinacea is a freely branching native perennial with strong upright stems that do not need staking and aromatic dark green foliage. The large fragrant cantaloupe orange flowers have an enlarged disk layered with smaller petals which bloom from summer through fall.  Thrives in full sun and well-drained soils.  The double flowers may not be as attractive to bees and butterflies, but spent stems will stay erect and attract birds if not removed.  Drought tolerant.
