Variegated Sweet Flag is and upright clumping semi-evergreen perennial with striking yellow-striped, grass-like foliage that provides wonderful color and texture for lightly shaded gardens. An excellent groundcover or hardy bog plant for open woods, at water's edge, and in ponds or water gardens in up to four inches of water. Grows best in part sun and moist, well-drained soil.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Thrives in average soils with consistent moisture, even boggy conditions and standing water. Shelter from harsh sun exposure in hot summer regions. Water regularly to maintain moisture levels; will not tolerate dry soils. For a neat appearance, remove old, faded foliage before new leaves emerge. Divide every 2 to 3 years in early spring.
LANDSCAPE USES: Accents or Group Plantings, Borders, Urban Gardens, Groundcover, and Containers.
COMPANION PLANTS: Itea, Fothergilla, Cardinal Flower
