Onslow Rabbiteye Blueberry is an upright-spreading deciduous shrub that produces large, medium blue blueberries that ripen mid-late season that resists cracking.  The elliptical blue-green foliage turns a bright scarlet red in the fall. The white flower clusters bloom in early spring before giving way to the berries that are ready for harvest in early to mid summer.  Grows best with full sun and rich, moist acidic well-drained soils.  Onslow is self-pollinating and is recommended for commercial use, and requires 500-600 chill hours.  Also a good polinator choice for 'Tiftblue' or 'Powderblue' varieties.

Previously sold as Vaccinium ashei 'Onslow'.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Medium Maintenance. Water regularly and mulch.  Prune as needed in late winter. Chlorosis may occur in high PH soils.  Blight, rot, anthracnose, canker, and mildew are occasional problems. Blueberry maggot, fruit worms, and spotted wing drosophila can damage the fruit.  Mummy berry is a fungal disease that shrivels and dries the fruit- remove effected fruit immediately if spotted.
